Local charities and organisations are a much needed and sometimes vital lifeline for those in the community.
Every year, ThirdSpace seeks to support some of the organisations that make important contributions to the areas in which we live. This year, we are donating £900, which has been split between four chosen charities.
These organisations have been selected by the ThirdSpace charity committee, or put forward by our own employees, because of their commitment to helping people, as well as their efforts to create a fair and ethical society.
Our first charity is a cause close to the heart of our Oxford-based employees – The Oxford Food Bank. The organisation collects unsold fresh food from local supermarkets and delivers it for free to over 80 Oxfordshire charities.
This helps to lift people out of food poverty, while educating them on nutrition and cooking. At the same time, they are helping the environment by sharing food that would otherwise have been wasted. With support from donations, The Oxford Food Bank can deliver over £1 million worth of food a year!

“We would like to extend our gratitude to all the selected (and nominated) charities chosen for this year.”
Our second chosen charity is especially important. At this time of year, homeless people not only have to deal with the physical conditions, but also the emotional stress of facing Christmas without the love and support of family and friends. Huggard is a Cardiff-based charity tackling homelessness and seeking to overcome the problems and barriers that force individuals to sleep rough on the streets.
The Huggard charity have been in operation for over 20 years. They run a support centre 365 days a year, which helps to provide people with free and low-cost meals, clothing, laundry and personal hygiene facilities. The centre exists to provide essential assistance for homeless people, while providing the opportunity to engage with them in a warm, friendly atmosphere. This helps to break their cycle of homelessness.
If you’d like to support Huggard in their continued efforts to end homelessness, why not donate to their current winter campaign.
Our third and fourth charity donations go to the Bardi Symphony Orchestra and the Panteg Rugby Club (under 7s and under 8s teams) respectively. These charities, amongst a host of nominations, where chosen as volunteer-based sports and social organisations that have a strong local or personal connection to our employees.
You can buy tickets for the upcoming Bardi Christmas performance in Leicester now, or keep an eye on Panteg’s upcoming fixtures.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all the selected (and nominated) charities chosen for this year. The work they all do in their local communities really does change lives. Thank You.
