Recognising the vital services our charities provide now and throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Every year, ThirdSpace seeks to support organisations that make contributions to the areas in which we live, as well as organisations that are close to the hearts of our employees.
This year, we are proud to support and shine a light on three charities and the fantastic work they do. These charities, among so many others, have been a vital lifeline for those struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic and have aided local communities as well as contributing towards a fair and ethical society.
Our first charity has helped national communities through a crisis which has affected us all. Supported by the professional footballer, Marcus Rashford MBE, FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food distributors.
Made up of 17 independent organisations, FareShare take good quality surplus food from across the food industry and distribute it to almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups. Every week, FareShare provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
With support from some of the UK’s largest organisations, FareShare has been able to distribute 6,732 tonnes of food to vulnerable people throughout the COVID-19 pandemic – which is equivalent to 16 million meals.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our local charities chosen for this year.”Neil Coughlan, CEO, ThirdSpace
Our second chosen charity is close to the heart of our Oxford-based employees – The Oxford Food Bank. The organisation collects unsold fresh food from local supermarkets and delivers it for free to over 100 charities in Oxford and Oxfordshire.
Recently celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Oxford Food Bank has continued to support its local communities during the COVID-19 pandemic by feeding families, educating them on nutrition and cooking, as well as helping the environment by sharing food that would have otherwise been wasted.
If you’d like to contribute towards the positive impact the Oxford Food Bank has on its local community, please donate via their website.
Our third chosen charity is important to our Cwmbran employees. Huggard is a Cardiff-based charity that has helped local homeless people for more than 30 years.
Not only are homeless people currently struggling with living on the streets through a pandemic, but now they also have to deal with winter conditions and the emotional strain of facing Christmas without the love and support of family and friends.

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the selected (and nominated) charities chosen for this year. At a time when everything has felt out of our control, our charities have supported our national communities significantly and have worked tirelessly to change lives.
