Celebrating those individuals who have gone above and beyond in 2018.
We kicked off 2019 by gathering in Oxford for our bi-annual All Hands event to look back on all we’d achieved in 2018.
A successful year by all accounts, 2018 was especially significant as we transitioned from our old identity of Oxford Computer Group and became ThirdSpace.
Twice a year (once in the summer and then again around Christmas/New Year) everyone in the company comes together to report on the latest developments across all areas of the business. Held over two days, we have department presentations as well as technical workshop sessions covering the latest news and updates to Microsoft’s technologies.
But, primarily, it’s an opportunity to catch up with each other and celebrate our successes.
“Our awards are a special time when our people get the opportunity to recognise their colleagues.”
Neil Coughlan, CEO
Part of that celebration comes in the form of our Employee of the Year awards, which we hold after our evening dinner on the first day (this year’s theme was 1920s/Great Gatsby – we don’t normally dress as gangsters, honest). Hosted by our Operations Director, Jeremy Wilson, these awards are designed to give recognition to individuals who have excelled over the past year.
Split into five categories, the awards feature Customer Hero, Outstanding Innovator, Behind the Scenes Wonder, Excellence in Humour and Entertainment and, of course, the overall Employee of the Year – Core Values award.
As always, nominations flooded in for people all across the company, but there can be only five winners!
Let’s see who took home the very first ThirdSpace Employee of the Year awards!
Commenting on her award, Alison said: “I am fiercely defensive of my clients and will fight for what they need from ThirdSpace. The fact that my colleagues recognise that, despite having to put up with my nagging and annoying (I am sure!) ways, means I must be doing something right. This means more than they will ever know!”
“We have a laugh, don’t we?”
“Absolutely overwhelmed to have won an award for ‘Behind The Scenes Wonder 2018′,” said Emma-Lee. “To be recognised by my colleagues, for essentially just doing my day-to-day job, makes me appreciate even more what an amazing company we all work for.”
Surprised, but pleasantly so, Nick said, “It was amazing to win the Employee of the Year award. The fact it’s voted for by my peers as well as management really means a lot and makes it extra special. Thank you to everyone for the lovely comments with the votes… Even though I don’t think I nag that much.”
ThirdSpace CEO, Neil Coughlan commented: “Our awards are a special time when our people get the opportunity to recognise their colleagues, call out outstanding acts, or just acknowledge the consistent support of a great team through the year. The feedback and comments create a very emotional moment, with quite a few tears and laughs along the way. A great way to reflect on the year past and look forward to the future.”
Well done to all of this year’s winners. Keep up the good work!
